Associate Professor at the Department of Restorative Sciences, School of Dentistry, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), AB. Associate professor in Restorative Dentistry at the Post-Graduate Program in Dentistry, Universidade Positivo, Curitiba, PR, Brazil. Session Editor in Dentistry for the scientific journal Heliyon. IADR Constitution Committee Member. Board Member for the Brazilian Group of Dental Materials Obtained a DDS degree in 2004, practiced within the general dentistry field since then. Completed a formal training in restorative dentistry (clinical post graduation, 2009) and a Masters degree in Dental Sciences (2010), both obtained at fully accredited universities in Brazil. In 2015, was awarded a PhD degree in Dental Materials at Federal University of Pelotas, which is one of the top dentistry graduate programs in Brazil. Completed a postdoctoral research training at the Materials Science and Engineering School at Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil (2016). And after that, joined Prof. Yu Zhang's laboratory as a professional research scientist at New York University College of Dentistry, from 2016 to 2019.
